Behind the Scenes: Death Log and Sellback Shop

Hi everyone,I feel like I’m going to start writing these more often to give you a look behind the scenes at the development of BK RPG.Some of these will be Patreon only, others will be Public.

So today, I’ve been working on two things. One is the Death Log.

BK RPG needs a system that records all player deaths, both for reference, and also that I can revive the characters if death happened through a bug or some non-player fault related incident.
This should hopefully be active within the next 24 hrs.

The other thing I’m working on the moment is the long anticipated Guilder Shop Sellback feature.
This is a somewhat larger project, and involves adding the functionality of selling items back to the guilder shop for Diamond Dust, a Shop for using Diamond Dust, and also a few special things that can be bought with the Diamond Dust. 

For each of those items, I need to code in the effects of those items, as well as add them into the game system. This is a preview of one of them: 

The Crystal Bane (Legendary)

The final thing that is happening behind the scenes is writing the actual text version of the storyline of the next few releases. Get keen for some surprises!I think that’s all for now, the first Behind the Scenes!

BKRPG News Video coming soon!

Inventing the Inventory

Well, it’s been a week full of behinds the scenes work, and although nothing huge has happened outwardly in BK RPG, a lot of new features have been added in preparation for launch!

Mana costs are now live, as well as passive mana regeneration whenever you attack! The ability system was also reworked, which will open the way for more exciting abilities with special effects in the future.

But most excitingly, the Inventory is now live, with support for 10 different items to be equipped simultaneously

Check out below for a preview of the different categories of gear that will be available in BK RPG! (Alethea was kind enough to pose for us!)

With 10 different equipement slots, you’ll be able to create a character that suits your style!

In other news, the To-Do list before launch is shrinking rapidly too.
Key things include introducing extra items (some with useful buff effects), adding drops to mobs, and converting mobs to use the new ability system, as well as stomping on any bugs that appear.

Stay tuned, because coming up soon will be a post with some background lore.

The Journey Begins

Day 1. Created Design Notes WordPress.
